“We believe that if the Lord
is exalted through our praise and worship, you are obedient
to His word. Exaltation by His grace is forthcoming in
due time. We’ve been healed, delivered and we believe
that the ministry God has birthed in us is for this day.”
-- Pastor Roger Cheeks
Prayer Ministry
To the Christian, prayer is essential.
New Dominion Fellowship has made prayer a priority by
recognizing it as a primary element in its foundational
structure. Therefore New Dominion has established a
Prayer Ministry department that is the responsibility
of one of the pastors and /or elders. Lisa Smith is
the designated pastor who will oversee this ministry
with a team of volunteer prayer leaders. The Prayer
Ministry oversees prayer opportunities at the ministry,
handling prayer requests and directing prayer gatherings.
Prayer gatherings are designed to bring
an attention to the various needs of the members and
the needs of the community. There is specific intercessory
prayer
focuses. In addition to the daily prayer activities, prayer team members are
involved in a host of activities. They hold prayer walks throughout various
sections of Chesapeake and South Hampton Roads, praying
for those communities; and pray
at new homes of members.
The Prayer ministry
of New Dominion is in concert with God in prayer for
direction on praying
for the business ventures of members. Prayer team members
will go
on-site to a member¹s business and pray for its success; members also pray
for the owners and employees, and hold special prayer session’s focuses
on the businesses.
In addition the prayer ministry will
conduct an annual Prayer Breakfast, have activities
on National Prayer Day, Prayer Revival and host an annual
Prayer
Conference.
Consolidating our intercession into one
group and seeking the will of God for our lives and
the ministry of Jesus Christ is put into action weekly.
